Pro Dunk® and Hercules systems are installed in two trips over approximately 3 days.
-
Day 1: Hoops crew pours your steel reinforced concrete pier (~1 hour).
Note: If the position of your system is marked it is not necessary that anybody be present although we do ask that the decision maker be available via phone in case any questions should arise during installation.
- Day 2: Allow pier to dry
- Day 3: Hoops crew installs your system and it is ready for play (~1 hour).

Eliminate corrosion with Pro Dunk®'s exclusive industry leading Rust Armor™ package
You'll receive upgraded stainless steel nuts bolts and washers that will not rust. Also each piece of steel will be hot-dip galvanized coating it in a impermeable, tenacious, insoluble layer of zinc carbonate protecting it from the corrosive humid Houston weather.
While both are clear, that's where the similarities stop.
In most cases tempered glass is the preferred backboard material because it has superior performance characteristics and is more durable over time. Acrylic is lighter resulting in a 30% reduction in rebound response. It is also softer which allows for scratching that will give the board a dull look.
Acrylic is the material of choice if you are concerned about vandalism. Tempered glass will break into several small pieces if somebody were to throw a brick at it where as acrylic might only dent.
